The Surströmming is stored refrigerated. Please pay attention to chilled shipping, as the fish can decompose at higher temperatures in the can. In order not to interrupt the cold chain and slow down the fermentation process, the can must be stored refrigerated at +4 to +6 degrees until consumption.
