Description
Hand-made in Germany. Made from American cherry tree. Easy to play. 100 % free from harmful substances, treated with linseed oil. › See more product details; Product description Kalimbas are tongue instruments that have their origin in the south of Africa and can be found there in countless forms and designs. Our Kalimba B11 'Melody' is made from solid American cherry (black cherry) in careful handwork. The surfaces are treated and polished with vegetable oils and waxes. The 11 tongues are precisely tuned in the G major scale, allowing a variety of well-known songs to be played. The 'Melody' is also suitable for improvising and intuitive play. When arranging the tongues, we have alternately mounted long and shorter tongues for playing and tonal reasons. The six shorter tongues have been bent so that their ends lie in a higher level than those of the long tongues, as they can be easily reached by the thumbs. When playing the sounds from low to high, the five long tongues are plucked alternately from the middle to the outside with both thumbs - the right thumb starts on tongue no. 6 - then the six short tongues, also from the middle to the outside. The left thumb starts on tongue. 5. The eleven tongues have been numbered from left to right. The even numbers 2,4,6,8,10 are the long, deeper tones, the odd numbers the shorter, bent tones. Normally - for unanimous melodies - the left thumb (L) is responsible for the tongues 1-6 and the right thumb (R) for 6 -11. Factory tuning: G Major g , a , e , d , c , g , d , f . h.
