It is used when a turntable is to be operated on an amplifier without a phono input or when an amplifier internal phono connection does not meet the sound requirements. In phono preamps, the extremely small signal of the turntable is amplified and equalized and thus prepared for connection to an amplifier. These signals are very sensitive to interference signals of all kinds, which can be manifested by disturbing noise or humming. In addition to the sound properties, the TC5B has therefore placed great emphasis on minimising these interferences. In addition to the well-shielded and high-quality housing made of metal with a solid 4 mm front or back made of aluminium, the TC5B has an external power supply to minimise interference. In addition, the TC5B comes with an unusual TopFeature in its price range, as it has also been given the possibility to switch from the power supply via power supply to power supply via battery operation (9V block). Depending on the record player or setup of the system, this can make a very large difference in sound. A standard alkaline 9 V block (not included) is sufficient for approx. 40 hours of music enjoyment.
