A functioning immune system protects our horses from diseases. The immune system is composed of different organs, tissues, cells and molecules and sufficient defence performance requires undisturbed interlinking of these individual parameters. For this to work, an optimal supply of nutrients and vital substances is important. In addition to the trace elements zinc and selenium, the cell protection vitamins vitamin E, C and beta-carotene are effective micronutrients to protect against pathogenic germs and viruses. Especially horses with damaged health, horses in tournament sports or after a change of stable and stressed horses show an increased need for so-called antioxidants, which should be adequately supplied via feeding.
