Loose black tea: Although Japan is mainly known for green tea, we also offer a small amount of loose organic black tea. This high quality tea contains hand-picked young leaves of the Benifuuki cultivar. Gentle and fragrant: in the taste very different from the black teas common in the UK, Benifuuki black tea impresses with a mild, soft aroma - without bitterness - and with a pleasant fragrance. JAPANESE ORGANIC TEA: This organic black tea comes from an award-winning mountain plantation in Shizuoka, a region with ideal climatic conditions for organic tea cultivation in Japan. This is black tea, but it is completely different from the high-quality black teas you are probably used to. Made from hand-picked young leaves, this Benifuuki black tea is aromatic, mild and incredibly soft - without bitterness. Make the perfect cup of Japanese black tea - hot or cold Temperature, leaf quantity, water quality and brewing time are crucial to making the perfect cup of hot Japanese black tea. Our recommendation: tea: 4 g (0.14 oz. = 1 heaped tsp), Water: 1 cup (200ml), Temperature: 95-100°C, Brewing time: 120 seconds. Loose black tea can also be prepared cold. Add 6-7g of loose tea to a glass carafe and fill with 500-1000ml of water. Let it brew in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours, then strain the leaves and drink the tea or keep refrigerated. Ocha & Co.
