The case consists of a maple sleeve, a hemp core and a cocobolo outer ring. Signature sound pulls everything we can from the new 50mm X driver and is taken to new heights when paired with maple, hemp and cocobolo. Maple takes care of most of the work, hemp smooths the top and bottom ends, while Cocobolo gives the extra punch. Together, the sound that the woods produce, in combination with our special processes, is full-bodied, dynamic and truly defined. X Series Driver: The RS1x is the first headphone built with the larger 50mm X drivers. Specially tuned to the Tri-Wood RS1x, this new speaker design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with reduced effective mass and a newly configured diaphragm. Revising these components for our 50mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion and preserves the harmonious integrity of your music. Cable and headbands Together with the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the RS1x. The now super-annealed 8 conductor copper cable is housed in a more durable exterior and reveals even more of your music with enhanced purity. The new black leather headband features a white stitched accent. HANDMADE IN BROOKLYN Our first wooden headphones were built in 1994 in the middle of the night by John Grado. Wood has been a staple on our workbench ever since. Each RS1x headphone is handmade by our team in Brooklyn - these headphones go from workbench to workbench until they're ready for your ears.
