IDEAL FOR THE ASTRONOMIC TELESCOP: The XW40-R is the perfect eyepiece for viewing the nebula, planets and exploring the night sky. CLEAR VIEW AND COMFORTABLE VIEWING: The XW30R eyepiece offers an extra wide 70° viewing angle and an extra long eye relief of 20 mm to deliver a fascinating image with a wide perspective. HIGH-QUALITY OPTICS FOR EXCEPTIONAL IMAGE QUALITY: The XW30-R's high-performance optics contain high-refraction, ultra-low-dispersion lanthanum glass elements to maintain a balanced image with minimal aberrations. It has been specially designed to reduce the annoying blackout effect by effectively compensating the spherical aberration of the pupil. SMC COATING: All lens surfaces in contact with air are treated with the original multi-layer coating, while all laminated surfaces are treated with the innovative partial coating to achieve a light transmission of more than 90 percent over the visible light spectrum (an astonishing 96 percent at 550 nm). Advanced light shielding technology: Thanks to PENTAX's advanced computer simulation technology, the XW30-R features a light-shielding aperture in the most effective position to dramatically reduce internal reflections and achieve a brighter image with higher contrast. ALL WEATHER CONSTRUCTION: The XW30-R features a weatherproof JIS Class 4 construction that allows for use in drizzle or night dew. INTEGRATED ADAPTER MOUNTING SCREW: When the rotating eyecup is removed, it also provides an adapter mounting screw/adapter mounting thread (43mm diameter with a pitch of 0.75mm).
